Amalfi Coast Beaches
The Amalfi Coast stretches 34 miles from Salerno to Positano (with many people also including Capri and Sorrento). There are thirteen different municipalities within the Amalfi coast and dozens more beaches. Given the unique landscape, think: a mountain falling in the sea, you’ll find the beaches just as unique. They are often small, wedged between steep cliff sides, usually accessed by stairs and lots of them.
Even though you won’t see white sand beaches and turquoise water, don’t discount its beauty. However, you should definitely bring some sort of water shoe (my go-to dual-purpose sandal and waterproof shoe). The rocky shorelines are no joke. They are water smoothed rocks that I found incredibly uncomfortable to walk on.
Important note – be on the lookout for broken pieces of tile, glass, or bits of metal! Some are less smooth than others and could cause some damage. Seriously, just wear the sandals!
The coast of Amalfi sits along the crystal clear Tyrrhenian Sea. You’ll find the water gets deep quickly, hence all the boats so close to shore. It literally is a mountain falling into the sea, the steepness on land is the same as under the water. The water is a deep, dark blue given the deep waters and dark, rocky ground.

1. Lido Edelvina (Erchie)
We’re starting the list with probably the most underrated beach on the Amalfi coast. This medium-sized beach sits in the tiny little town of Erchie (as part of the Maori Municipality).
Enjoy Lido Edelvina for free (get there early during peak season) or rent a chair for only €5 each! (Mind you, we visited during the off-season, so prices may vary.)
And the best part? There is a SECRET BONUS BEACH accessible only by water – Spiaggia del Cauco! You can rent a peddle boat at €10 per hour (only available May-September) from the main beach and peddle/row around the castle to the secret beach! This beach is only accessible by water, so it’s far less busy, and it has a nice rocky area to sit.
There is a small bar and restaurant on the beach for grabbing cold drinks or lunch. We were surprised to find a Peroni Capri, which only cost €3.50 each!
Pro Tip: Pack your travel towel and an easy Italian picnic (cheese, deli meat, bread, & wine) in a dry pack and head to enjoy the morning on this secret beach… beneath a castle. Magical.
How to get to Lido Edelvina
Driving: You can drive right into Erchie town and park just two minutes walking to the beach. Honestly, even the parking lot is cute. It’s locally run and the guy prorated our last hour since we didn’t stay the full two hours. Rates were €3 per hour for cars and €1.50 per hour for scooters or bikes.
Bus: Google Maps is your best friend with public transport in Amalfi! The best bus stop is the Maiori (Erchie) stop. The walk from the bus stop into town takes about 15 minutes. It’s all downhill coming to the beach, but uphill (+55m; +180ft) back to the bus stop.

2. Spiaggia di Castiglione (Ravello)
It’s these kinds of beaches that bring you to the Amalfi Coast. A small sandy (rocky) beach nestled into a small crevice of towering rocky cliffs. This beach is only accessible by a massive set of (gorgeous) stairs from the road. But the trek is worth it. With every set of stairs, you will weed out more and more people, especially given that this beach is just outside of Ravello. A perfect beach for those staying in Scala or Ravello.
You’ll find free spaces available along either edge if you get here early enough. Don’t forget your travel towel to lay claim to your own space. There are chairs and umbrellas here for rent as well. With only one small restaurant (only open seasonally), this is a good beach to come prepared with your own snacks and activities.

How to get to Spiaggia di Castiglione
Driving: There is no dedicated parking lot for this beach so you will definitely need to walk in. The closest parking is street parking via the Easy Park app. But with such a limited space, it could be difficult to find a spot. The next closest paid parking lot is a 10 minute walk away, just past Atrani.
Bus: If you are taking the bus, you can use the bus stop at the top of the stairs to the beach, Castiglione di Ravello (spiaggia).

3. Tonino's Beach (Amalfi)
Tonino’s Beach is a super convenient location, sitting just adjacent to the Amalfi marina and just steps from the town center. Amalfi is one of the most popular towns on the Amalfi Coast, so this beach gets full very quickly. There are three different places to rent chairs from, all at competitive prices. During the off-season, there were free spaces to layout as well.
This beach is rather small and is separated from the (very busy) marina by a long jetty. This keeps the wakes out for a calmer beach and hopefully cleaner waters.
Since it’s located just on the main boardwalk in Amalfi, there are tons of restaurants in town to eat at or break up the day with some sightseeing and shopping.
This is a great beach to enjoy if you take the ferry from Positano or Sorrento since it is so close to the ferry port. It’s also a great spot to layout before heading out for a boat tour from the Amalfi Marina.
Don’t miss out on our Amalfi Coast Itinerary for a perfectly planned adventure!
How to get to Tonino's Beach
Driving: Parking near Tonino’s Beach is pretty limited, so it’s a good idea to arrive early if you’re driving. There’s a paid parking area nearby, but spots fill up quickly, especially during peak times. Be prepared for a short walk from the parking area to the beach!
Pro Tip: If you’re driving around Amalfi Town, street parking can be a bit of a hassle, but the Easy Park app makes it so much easier! Just download it before your trip, and you can pay for parking right from your phone without stressing over finding a meter. Trust me, it’ll save you so much time, and parking headaches!
Bus: From Positano, hop on the SITA bus heading to Amalfi, it’s an amazing ride with stunning coastal views. Once you get to Amalfi, it’s an easy walk along Via Marina Grande to reach the beach at Via Marina Grande V arcata, Viale della Regione. Simple, scenic, and no parking stress!

4. Lido delle Sirene (Amalfi)
Lido delle Sirene is one of those tiny, tucked-away spots in Amalfi that feels like a little escape. The beach itself is gorgeous, with big smooth rocks underfoot and calm, crystal-clear water that’s perfect for a dip. The beach club there isn’t much to write home about, but honestly, the natural beauty makes up for it.
Entrance to the beach club is €6.60 per person (includes showers and bathrooms, but from the looks of it they’re not very nice). You could sit out on your own towel for this rate. You could also rent two sunbeds and an umbrella for €55 for the day.
One thing that stood out? The rocks! If you’re feeling adventurous, there are a few spots perfect for rock jumping. If that’s not your thing, the calm water is amazing for just floating around and soaking up the sun.
Even though it’s a small beach, they’ve got nice chairs available for rent, ideal if you plan to lounge for a few hours. It’s a rocky beach, so the chairs definitely make things more comfy. If you’re looking for a low-key, peaceful vibe, this is your spot!

How to get to Lido delle Sirene
Driving: Parking at Lido delle Sirene is limited, so it’s a good idea to get there at least an hour early. The closest parking spot is BERMA Parking, right by the beach, but it’s closed on Wednesdays. If that’s full, you can park at LUNA ROSSA Parking, about a 15-minute walk away, which is open 24/7.
You can also use the Easy Park App for street parking in Amalfi, which is super convenient since the area is walkable with no steep hills to worry about. Just make sure to avoid parking on the road to avoid fines!
Bus: If you’re coming from Positano or Scala, head to the Amalfi Bus Station near the main square. Catch a bus heading towards Salerno or Positano and ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to Lido delle Sirene, it’s just a short 5-10 minute ride, then a quick walk to the beach following the signs to Piazzale dei Protontini, 4.

5. Fiordo di Furore (Furore)
This spot under the bridge is definitely iconic, it’s the same cove where the Red Bull diving competition happens, so you know it’s a pretty cool place. Boats pull right up to the shore, adding a little extra excitement to the vibe.
But here’s the catch: because it’s surrounded by towering cliffs, it only gets sunlight at specific hours, so be sure to check out a sunrise app before you go, midday is usually your safest bet.
Getting to the beach isn’t exactly easy, there are quite a few stairs to navigate, so be prepared for a little workout. But trust me, once you get there, it’s all worth it. The beach is small, but the views and the peacefulness make up for the effort to get down.
Once you’re at the beach, you’ll find a restaurant in the back offering drinks and food, perfect for chilling after some time in the sun. You can rent chairs if you want to lounge in comfort, but be warned, the rocks on the beach can be a bit unforgiving, so watch your step. It’s a small beach, offering a cozy and peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy the surroundings.

How to get to Fiordo di Furore
Driving: Parking at Fiordo di Furore is pretty tricky since there’s no street parking available near the fjord. You can park your motorbike at the Q8 gas station for €10 a day, which offers secure, covered parking, and it’s only a short walk to the beach from there.
Bus: The bus is probably the easiest way to get to Fiordo di Furore, take the SITA BUS #5070 from Amalfi or Positano, and it’ll drop you off right at the bridge. From there, it’s a short walk down some stairs to the fjord. The bus is super affordable, around €1-€2, and the ride takes about 20 minutes from Amalfi or 40 minutes from Positano.

6. Marina di Praia (Praiano)
This little gem is super cute, with restaurants right on the water, giving you that perfect coastal vibe. The town may be small, but it’s full of charm and perfect for unwinding while enjoying a meal with a view.
If you’re planning to spend the day here, you can rent chairs for comfort, two sunbeds and one umbrella costs €40 for the day. If you are looking for free spots, be warned, free seating goes fast, even in the off-season!
The beach here is tiny, but it’s full of character, with small boats constantly coming and going. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit back and watch the boats cruise by while you soak up the atmosphere.
One thing to note is that the beach doesn’t get much sunlight in the afternoon due to its surroundings. If you’re hoping to catch some rays, be sure to get there earlier in the day. Still, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, grab a drink, and just enjoy the quiet beauty of the area.
This was one of the best restaurants we tried in Amalfi! See more in our Top 7 Amalfi Coast Restaurants guide.
How to get to Marina di Praia
Driving: Getting to Marina di Praia by car or motorbike is pretty straightforward. You’ll need to drive along the by-road connecting it to the main SS163, and once you’re there, you can park along the road or in the private car park, especially during the busy summer months. Paid street parking is EUR 2 per hour, or if you’re staying longer, the La Praia garage near the beach charges EUR 3 per hour.
Bus: Even though this small beach is part of Praiano, it’s tucked away in a little nook, so to avoid walking too much, make sure to get off at the right bus stop. You can catch the SITA bus from Sorrento and Amalfi (bus stop n° 10), or the Coop, Tasso, and Mobility Amalfi Coast buses from Praiano and Positano, stopping at La Praia for a short walk to the beach.

7. Positano Spiaggia (Positano)
Positano Spiaggia, also known as Marina Grande Beach, is one of those iconic spots that you’ve likely seen all over Instagram. With the colorful town in the background and the clear blue waters right in front, it’s seriously the definition of postcard-worthy. It’s the busiest beach in Positano, so make sure you get there early to snag a good spot before it fills up!
The sunsets here are stunning, but be aware that the sun sets behind the mountain, so it gets dark a bit earlier. However, don’t let that discourage you, twilight in Positano is magical. As the lights from the hillside buildings flicker on, it creates a soft, dreamy atmosphere that’s perfect for an evening stroll along the beach.
While there’s a small free section, most of the beach is paid (around €75 for two sunbeds and an umbrella depending on season and row; the closer to the shore, the more expensive!), and it’s one of the most popular spots along the Amalfi Coast. The beach tends to get busy during peak season, adding to Positano’s lively and energetic atmosphere. Whether you’re lounging on a rented chair or taking in the views, this beach is definitely one for the bucket list.
Ready for Positano? Check out our guide to the Best Positano Things to Do.
How to get to Positano Spiaggia
Driving: When visiting Positano, you’ll notice there are roads directly down to the beach, but they are not open for tourists. Be sure to check all the signs driving into Positano and never drive down a street with a white sign and an orange circle, or you’ll get a hefty fine. That said, parking can be a bit challenging. Parking is available in Upper or Central Positano in designated lots, typically costing around €4 per hour. Just keep in mind that some lots close by 7 pm, so it’s a good idea to check their hours, or you can use the 24-hour Parcheggio Carpineto lot.
Bus: If you’re taking the bus, there are two main stops in Positano: Chiesa Nuova, at the top of the town, and Sponda, which is closer to the beach. You can catch a bus from Sorrento or Amalfi to the La Sponda stop, or take a Mobility Amalfi Coast bus from Praiano or Positano to the Piazza dei Mulini stop. It’s a simple and easy way to get around if you prefer not to drive.
