Planning Your Itinerary
You’ll want to consider a few things while planning your itineraries. First, how much you have to spend. If you are on a budget, traveling through Australia may not be the best idea for you. Also, how quickly you want to travel. This can tie in with your budget as well. The quicker you travel, the more expensive it will be. But can also go hand-in-hand with your preferences and expectations. If you really want to get to know a culture or a country, two weeks probably isn’t enough time.

These itineraries are based on places we have been and places we would love to go. They are in order (or close to it) on how you can best travel between the countries in an economical and time-saving way. You probably should do all of Southeast Asia at once instead of flying to South America and back multiple times. Any and all of these countries are replaceable with what you are interested in and these are in no way the only countries you could or should visit. As I said, there are hundreds more!

Far & Wide
Countries: 12
Continents: 6
Time per Country: 1 month
This is probably the most likely path. Traveling to a country for a month at a time allows you to see more than you would if you just hopped through on a quicker route. And although it would be nice to spend a month in each country, you could just as well fall in love with Indonesia and stay for 3 months and cut a few of your other trips shorter. A trip at this speed shouldn’t burn you out and gives you plenty of opportunities to really enjoy a country and all it has to offer!

If you are looking to really travel to get to know a place or a culture, this itinerary is for you. An itinerary like this will put you in a country for the typical visa length of 90 days. You’ll be able to see more sites, meet more people, and get off the beaten path a whole heck of a lot more with a schedule like this. You can have more days relaxing in plazas or on the beach and less stress of planning for a new country or constantly getting on and off planes.
This route can be expensive too, depending on what you do or where you go but it can also be the cheapest with longer stays in accommodations and fewer long haul transportation needed. And of course, choosing any four countries in the entire world works just fine, these are just what we would love to do.
