We passed by in the late afternoon and noticed it was already fully shaded by that time of day, so timing is key if you’re looking for some sun! If we’d had more time, we definitely would have packed our swimsuits and spent an hour or two relaxing here.

We’ve learned that larger Capri boat tours bring visitors to the grotto entrance, where you transfer to tiny rowboats operated by local boatmen who guide you through the tiny cave opening. Once inside, you’re treated to an electric blue glow produced as sunlight filters through an underwater entrance
One important thing we’ve noted for our future visit: the Blue Grotto is entirely weather-dependent. If the seas are rough, it closes immediately for safety.

When we skipped the bus from Anacapri back to Marina Grande (those lines were no joke!), we decided to walk down instead. ⚠️ Walking reality check: Capri is very hilly with lots of steps. Wear proper shoes (those cute sandals might look Instagram-worthy, but your feet will hate you). Also, paths like Via Krupp are sometimes closed due to rockfall risk, so have backup plans!
